So over summer I realised that I was turning twenty-five soon and kind of freaked out about it. Not just the ageing thing and sun damage - but the fact that I had no skincare regimen whatsoever and that seemed like something you need to have when you're an adult and have your shit somewhat together. Am I the only person that freaks out about this stuff? So anyway, I've been actually using things as directed and regularly and even some preemptive anti-aging stuff. A lot of which actually works (who would have thought). Most of my goals have been pretty shallow; shiny healthy hair, glow-y skin and great brows. But I have been pretty vigilant with sun care this summer - so important! Just fake it anyway (Sugar Baby mousse is the best for this).
This post has been a long time in the pipeline - partly because I've been crazy busy, but also because I think you've got to give things a month or two before you can honestly say if they are doing any good. What follows is all the products lately that have either changed my life (seriously! Kiehl's Creme With Silk Groom!) or just generally do a great job.
Kiehl's Olive Fruit Oil Nourishing Shampoo & Conditioner
Although my hair is considerably thick and healthy considering its been bleached platinum blonde (Jason at Stephen Marr keeps me the perfect shade of icy blonde and keeps it in such good condition) on and off for years, it still regularly comes out in handfuls and is naturally very dry. I've always found Kiehl's skincare works so well (hydrating, no funky scents - not to mention the best packaging around) that I thought I'd give their haircare a try. I've been using this for a couple of months now and my hair stopped falling out. Which is a good thing. Also it's softer and shinier. Combine that with the Kiehl's Creme With Silk Groom (more on that down-post) and I feel like I have a whole new head of hair. This shampoo and conditioner is for dry, damaged and "under-nourished" hair, so if you're anything like me you're a textbook case.
Clarins Shaping Facial Lift - Lipo-drain Serum
This is the kind of techy, scientific skincare products I love. Anything that has "Dr" or "MD" in the title or comes in shiny clinical packaging and I'm so sold. This stuff actually does crazy stuff too - it's a contouring facial lift. So it literally de-puffs your face when used right. I don't even do the massage technique like you're supposed to and it still works wonders (I just rub it around before bed). Not only does it de-puff but it evens out your complexion amazingly and makes you're skin super clear. At least for me it did.
MAC Mineralize Foundation/Loose
Considering I've been using MAC products for years, I can't believe I only just discovered this. I use this like a powder (a little goes a long way) over BB Cream or Face And Body foundation or even just over tinted moisturiser on the weekend. Super light and doesn't look powdery or chalky at all. I use this literally every day now. It's also good at setting your face.

Rochas, one of my favourite collections of the whole season to date. Embodying that lady you just really want to be. Tasteful but subtly twisted- elegant and effortless with a nod to chic librarians. The colour palette is odd but so perfect, pairing misty blues and washed out peach with deep burgundy and mustard yellow. Bottom halves in the form of luxuriously full skirts, but also perfectly cropped trousers - both equally elegant. Every look finished off simple, statement jewels - something I love, especially when paired with a turtleneck sweater or collared shirt.
