The Marr Factory: the hair (and beauty) at Kate Sylvester

The fifth and final show of The Marr Factory was Kate Sylvester on Thursday night. It had one of my favourite hair directions of the whole week (think slutty governess) so I had a quick chat with the stylist behind the look - Matt Benns of Stephen Marr.

Kate Sylvester's range this season heavily influenced by Jane Eyre. Kinda innocent and passionate but very sexed up. In terms of hair we wanted to create something with big epic height, elegantly wind blown but still executed with a strong silhouette. But still with a looseness. Like a good hair up after a night of rough dirty lovemaking (as Kate says).

Step 1: Comb through a serious amount of Wella SP Elegant Shape volume mousse from roots to ends and blowdry it into your hair.

Step 2: Set the top layers of your hair with a hot wand or rollers, clip the waves in place and let them cool to set for a minute.

Step 3: Backcomb the sections of your hair through the top and the side layers and spray generously with Wella SP Perfect Hold hairspray, then randomly secure these sections with a few pins.

Step 4: For the ultimate finish to this look add a little more spray and blow some air with your blowdryer over the finished style to loosen things up and create a sexy, wind-tossed effect

The makeup by MAC Cosmetics also tied in perfectly - flushed, rosy and dewy.

EYES Bamboom Paint Tube, Mid Tone Sepia Cream Colour Base, Tan Pigment, Gloss Texture, Extended Play Lash mascara.
CHEEKS Pearl & Vintage Rose Cream Colour Base
LIPS Dubonnet Lipstick pressed in as a lip stain.
NAILS Quiet Time nail lacquer.
