After a few weeks of illness induced hiatus, here (finally) is another installment in this winter series. Doing the honors this time is my very good friend, designer Glen Prentice. You can find some of his recent pieces in store at Children Of Vision now. I caught up with Glen on a sunny winters morning a few weekends ago at Flagship where we made the most of beautiful morning light.
Glen is wearing a vintage felt hat, Crane Brothers blazer, self-made one-piece and Cole Haan shoes.
What do you like most about winter?
Despite the cold, I'm loving my walk to work all rugged and layered up. Most especially the foggy mornings. I now have the perfect raincoat so I can also face the rain too! My culinary skills have been really pathetic this winter but I usually love cooking food in winter. It's a season for all the best heart-warming, comfort foods.
How do you stay warm?
Warm layers, coats and big scarves. Plenty cups of hot coffee and tea. This winter I've become accustomed with the hot water bottle which has been a slight revelation.
What do you have planned for the cold weather?
Nothing planned as such. I'm not a skier or boarder so won't be hitting the slopes. If I could have it my way I would take plenty of time out by a fire with some movies or something and a day in my mothers kitchen, cooking stilton and cauliflower soup and lots of other winter favorites.
Are there any winter purchases/creations you want to make?
I made my wool one-piece which was one thing I really wanted to have. I don't know if there is anything else I want to make but I'd love to go fabric shopping to get ideas!!
