What aesthetic are you being drawn to with regards to your own wardrobe and way of dressing now cold weather is imminent?
I like to be comfortable when I'm working, if i'm not on set (at Canvas) or on location shooting, I'm driving around or at home writing copy. At the moment, I'm dressing like my dad i.e Hawaiian shirts, Teva sandals, college t-shirts, Nike trainers, Tassel Loafers- which probably sounds a bit wrong, but that's why I like it. I'm drawn to sportswear, and I prefer that casual/east coast preppy as opposed to anything too sartorial. I find that look contrived, and guys that dress like that are always on the look out for someone to take their picture.
What pieces have you bought / want to buy for autumn/winter?
Jackets and coats. There's an orange raincoat at North Face that I've been eyeing up, as well as the Chicago parka from Zambesi and the camo parka from Workshop. I Love Ugly's printed sweater and their new collection of printed caps. All of them. Salasai's East Anglia sweater is another favorite for the season. I've also been fortunate to get a couple of short sleeved shirts from the Marni/H&M collaboration which will be good for when I go out (which is never), so will probably end up wearing them to work or when I'm sitting at home watching TV or playing Playstation on my laptop.
Any dream pieces from international designers?
A.P.C knitwear of course. Raf Simons sweaters and the one's he designed for Jil Sander (whale print and dinosaur print). A navy peacoat from Club Monaco. I'd also like some classic Timberland boots, or the Opening Ceremony x Timberland 7-eye moccasin boot. Also a boxy wool coat, preferably a plaid one from Marni. If anyone would like to buy any of these things for me, they are more than welcome to.
Any bargains / epic scores?
A Hawaiin print shirt from Topman. Socks from Polo Ralph Lauren. I bought a three pairs the other day-green,grey and red. They are comfortable and affordable. Also a red raincoat from Country Road that I'll wear all year round, and a yellow raincoat I got for $20 at the Warehouse.
What cool-weather basics do you rely on?
I've got a navy cotton cable knit sweater from Polo Ralph Lauren that I've had for about 8 years, which I wear all the time when the weather get's cool.
