It is definitely getting colder. Which is exciting because it means more layers and pieces to work with. But still warm enough to wear some sheer layers or bare arms if you feel like it. Lonely Hearts has one of the coolest local collections this winter - with both sportswear and lingerie references (think grey marle, leather and slip dresses). Liv O'Driscoll does the honors for the Fall 12 lookbook.
I'm all about trousers whatever the time of year, and these leather pants are brilliant. Super hot and will look great with a simple sweater. Bonus points for the stretch panel in the inner leg - this solves the usual trauma that goes along with leather pants of getting them on and off.
This outfit is the perfect example of how to do the dress-with-trousers trend that has reappeared lately. Keep the trousers slip and a similar if not same print to the dress. This would also work great with a long sleeved skinny merino or turtleneck underneath.
Match your bra to your hat. Why not. And why not show it off in a dress that says business from the front and sassy from the back. Sheer black hosiery are also such a good alternative to standard black opaques.
I'm really into slip-dresses and lingerie references right now. I've probably been looking at too much Carrie Bradshaw and Ally McBeal, which is totally okay. The sheerness of this dress let's the Lonely by Lonely Hearts lingerie get some attention too.
Leather shorts with a black sweater - it couldn't get much easier or cooler.
As mentioned previously, matching prints with prints in an outfit can work really well. This is another example, with the sweater and shorts giving the print a different take in (respectively) wool and silk.
Spots are never a bad decision. Especially in navy. And this dress has a high neck and sleeves - making it very winter appropriate.
If this dress were in a silk it would be a different thing entirely, but it's in grey marl knit here and thus relaxed, chilled out and a bit sporty.
More length, this time black and with sleeves. So easy to wear and yet so striking and elegant.
For a dressier option, this stormy coloured silk is another take on the length concept.
