Recent Acquisitions: Ladylike Heels and a Workman's Jacket

New wardrobe additions are such a relief, especially when you've been rolling around in the same coats and sweaters all winter long. New additions are also great when you have had some form of a wait for them, be they online purchases (shoes) or pre-orders (jacket). Regular readers will know that I've been after a pair of pointy, ladylike stilettos for ages now. So I'm very pleased with this Topshop pair - such a refreshing change to all the big clompy wedges or my flay boy-shoes. They also really impact the way you walk and stand - making you feel older and more feminine. And hey, I'm 23 now and it's nice. I feel ready. The jacket is a spring piece from Sherie Muijs and not only looks smart-yet-relaxed but it is seriously comfortable. The unlined cotton drill makes it an easy option as it's light and durable. And I love the patch pockets, as my default action is to slouch and jam my hands in the pockets of whatever I'm wearing. Hence why it's probably good that I've invested in a pair of ladylike shoes to sort me out.

Pointed court shoes by Topshop

I'm wearing the Sherie Muijs Workmans Jacket, a striped Country Road shirt and an old grey tshirt that I bought from the Salvation Army and is the most comfortable and perfectly faded tshirt ever.

  1. I'm glad you got the shoes...tears would've been shed if you hadn't taken action to get those beautiful babies and missed out.

PS Country Road is my new go to for cheap menswear basics, they got GAME!
