4/2/10: Net-A-Porter

Lately, more than ever, I've been obsessed with the classic shirt/sweater combo. Can't wait till it cools down a wee bit to start layering. I've been literally living in shirts this summer - loose and oversized (a vintage polka dot one I bought recently is an New Zealand size 18! Haha must be getting fat). Loose cotton shirts really are perfect for some - keeps you a lot cooler than tight singlets, covers shoulders and neck from burning (I haaaate getting burnt, and haven't actively sunbathed in two years). Come autumn, I'll really be needing to update my knitwear - the three jumpers I've had on high rotation are cashmere hand my downs that have seen at least two wearers in the family before they get to me. So once they are in me (somewhat clumsy, accident prone care) they soon have holes at the elbows and a run at the cuff. Which I admittedly quite love - clothing is best when it looks like it's been worn for years. But I don't want them unravelling to pieces this winter, so shall have to search and invest for some new pieces.

I always love classic greys - they just go with everything, and are the perfect foil for prints (like my currently beloved polka dots). Tan leather is always a favorite as it adds colour to an outfit and is perfect for daytime. Oh and I can never pass up a chambray-y shirt.
